What an absolute THRILL to end a busy week with a copy of our first international magazine feature @ihilmagazine landing at our office today! April rushed home with the copy in hand to devour the pages of the esteemed publication featuring our project, Nordmarka. We have one issue between two co-founders of the design firm, we will share custody of the issue until another copy lands in our hands or we decide to visit Ireland, whichever comes first. Full of immense gratitude for this incredible feature and the beautifully authored story. Cheers to the weekend.

It’s been a minute since we have introduced ourselves. We are the GG gals, April (image right) and Lisa (image left), who co-founded Gingham & Gable Interior Design based in Greenwich, CT. We currently have projects located locally and regionally. Two weeks ago, we added a layer to our business, a retail shopping experience in a multi-dealer venue. We enjoy working with clients on design projects and equally driven to provide a wonderful shopping experience in Bedford Hills, NY. Welcome to our Instagram page.

Wrapping the weekend having devoured the summer issue of @vivantpublications. We loved seeing the recap of our Vivant Salon Gathering held in Greenwich, CT in the Presidential Suite @delamargreenwichharbor. Our early spring event brought together an intimate gathering of attendees to celebrate our magazine feature. Nordmarka, our latest of four Vermont projects, was featured with fabulous coverage in this stunning publication. We are honored, grateful, and beaming with pride over our first international feature in the highly regarded publication @ihilmagazine. We worked on all phases of this mountain home project. We visited the house when our client first purchased, we weighed in on initial blueprints, we teamed with our client on her desires for her Vermont home, worked closely with trades, and we saw all elements to completion. Mostly, we understood Nordmarka must honor her Irish upbringing through university and her strong connection to her roots. We understood the importance of honoring her husband’s childhood in Norway. We understood that this home would become a celebration of three cultures. Finally, we understood this project must stand the test of time. The perfect blend of form and function. Ultimately, this Green Mountain state home is a place where our client, her family, her Irish family, his Norwegian family, and friends will congregate for years and generations to come. Nordmarka is the celebration of our client’s dream come true. Thrilled to share this feature through the lens of an esteemed European publication.

American Dream with Irish Soul, the title of our first international feature. The authored words made us well with tears. The purchasing and reimagining of our clients Vermont home was a dream realized for our clients and a dream project for us as designers. We were entrusted to take great consideration of the wife’s Irish upbringing and heritage and the husband’s Norwegian childhood to create an American home that honored their cultures, yet felt perfect for life in the Green Mountain state. This project was more than creating an aesthetically appealing home, it was the honoring of three cultures in a seamless and mindful execution. We are bursting with pride that @ihilmagazine was as captivated by this home as our clients and we are…thankful for a beautifully written story that perfectly captures the essence of Nordmarka. 🤍
